The Umbrella Academy: Season 2

The Umbrella Academy is a Netflix original series about a dysfunctional family of superheroes who reunite after their adoptive father’s death. Season two opens with the siblings scattered through time in 1963 Dallas. Our team at Ralph was challenged to grow the passionate social fandom and spark a cultural conversation, positioning The Umbrella Academy as a quirky superhero franchise that could only exist on Netflix.

I explored design directions inspired by the era’s Pop and Op Art movements, incorporating linear patterns to evoke a time warp. I developed 360 campaign assets including character art, social content, physical products, out-of-home, and an AV sizzle. The campaign saw impressive social results: 4.4 million new followers and 379.7 million impressions. The Umbrella Academy became one of the 10 most Googled shows of 2020. Our team at Ralph earned a Silver Honor in Instagram Presence from the 13th Annual Shorty Awards.
